A mysterious explosion was reported in Chabahar, one of Iran’s most strategic ports in the southeast of the country. Iranian authorities have avoided giving full details, while the incident comes as the U.S. blockade in the Strait of Hormuz continues putting unprecedented pressure on Tehran’s oil system, old tanker fleet, and export routes.

Iran is threatening a new phase of escalation. Senior Iranian officials say the “phase of restraint” is over, warning of harsh responses against American vessels and bases. Tehran is also threatening underwater internet cables in the Strait of Hormuz, raising fears that the war in the Gulf could move from ships and oil into global civilian infrastructure.

Iran submitted a delayed response to the American proposal, but the report says it contains little new: another ceasefire extension, the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and talks about the future. Trump extended the deadline until Wednesday, while Qatar is again moving into a central mediation role after Pakistan failed to deliver a breakthrough.

The UAE reported intercepting drones launched from Iran, while a vessel was attacked near Qatar after Iranian threats against American ships in the Gulf. Inside Iran, the regime is reportedly bringing in militias from Iraq and Afghanistan to help suppress citizens as pressure rises on the Revolutionary Guards.
