First Trimester : Pregnancy Symptoms, Diet Chart + Dos and Dont's

During my first trimester pregnancy I received a lot of confusing information from a lot of different sources.
So, to make sure that doesn’t happen to you, I’m going to take you through everything you need to know about your first trimester pregnancy.

Pregnancy symptoms:

If you have missed your first period and you notice any or all of these symptoms, you could be pregnant.

Increased urination: Increased blood flow makes your kidneys process extra fluid which is why your bladder is always full.
Swollen Breasts: Another sure sign of pregnancy is if your breasts feel sore or swollen. This is because of hormonal changes during the first week of pregnancy.
Nausea and Vomiting: This is commonly known as morning sickness but it can happen at anytime of the day. Again this is due to increased hormonal levels.
Heartburn:You will also have to get used to having heartburn. This is cause by excess hormones which relax your stomach and allow acid to leak into the esophagus.
Constipation: Constipation is another common pregnancy symptom.

First Trimester Pregnancy Tests:
Once your pregnancy is confirmed your doctor will recommend getting a prenatal testing done. This usually involves a blood test and an ultrasound. My doctor suggested Lifecell to me as they are the leaders in their field.

Tests are a major part of your first trimester pregnancy. Generally during the first trimester, you will be asked to take the following tests:

Blood confirmatory test for pregnancy
Complete blood count
Blood pressure monitoring and Glucose Tolerance Test
Ultrasound scan in the 9th week of pregnancy to monitor the baby’s growth, heart rate, placental positioning and the parameters essential for normal pregnancy.
Prenatal screening test. This is a very important test that gives the doctor and you an insight about the proper development of the baby. The test screens the baby in the womb for chromosomal conditions such as Down syndrome and ensures that your baby is safe. Getting this test can enable you to take informed decisions about the continuation of pregnancy. My doctor LifeCell Diagnostics for my prenatal screening tests
STD testing to check the presence of sexually transmitted diseases
RH Factor test
Streptococcus Group B Testing

Diet Plan:

Watch the video to get a detailed report of exactly what you should and shouldn’t eat.
Do’s:
It’s never too early to start planning. Whether it’s checking hospitals, doctors, and even finding out maternity leave policies at your office.
You should consult your doctor about taking a prenatal vitamin. Folic acid supplements can help prevent spina bifida and other birth defects.
You should also start sleeping more. If you can, take a short nap or two in the afternoon.
Don'ts:
Don’t smoke because it increases the risk of premature birth, underweight baby, and much more.
Check with your doctor before you take ANY over the counter medication.
Don’t try any sort of fasting or fad diet. A balanced, healthy diet is the only to ensure you and your baby are safe.
Exercise:

Kegel Exercises
Walking/Jogging
Swimming
Yoga.
And, there you have it. A complete guide for every pregnant woman. I have personally followed all of these during my first trimester, so I can vouch for them. However you should definitely consult with your doctor before trying anything out.
