The Adventures in Kansai series is a collaboration between Where Next Japan and Kansai Scene on travel and culture within the Kansai region.
Kansai Scene, and Celia Polkinghorne, presents an interview Ariya Sasaki, a young priestess of the Pureland sect of Buddhism.
While female priestess were almost unheard of a generation ago, Ariya is determined to follow this path, and build a space for the community within her temple.
