Sam DeKuiper's legacy allows other young athletes to take the field

For those of you who never met him, I don't know a more efficient way to describe Sam DeKuiper other than to say, you hoped your teenage sons would be like him. And you hoped your teenage daughters would date someone like him. He was honest, kind, loyal, positive and at the same time, pretty cool.

The 22-year-old Traverse City man lost his life in a tragic car crash in Grand Traverse County one week ago Friday.
