The return of Roboute Guilliman brings periods of instability to the Imperium as the Primarch questions the state of the Imperial Creed and the whereabouts of his brothers. Chaos forces look to strike amidst the uncertainty, and a large Black Legion force supported by Thousand Sons hits deep in Imperial territory after bypassing defenses via the warp.

Imperial Guard scramble to respond, but are cut down by the powerful force of Chaos Space Marines and daemons. Planets fall under their campaign, until Adeptus Astartes arrive to head them off at Estia Province. Now the real battle begins, and the Emperor's Finest once more see battle under the distant gaze of a Primarch.
