Chinese Zhuque-2E rocket completes high-capacity launch mission

The Zhuque-2E Y5 carrier rocket, developed by Chinese commercial aerospace firm LandSpace, blasted off from the Dongfeng Commercial Space Innovation Test Zone at 11 am on Thursday.

The rocket successfully completed all flight mission procedures as planned, and the launch was declared a complete success.

The Zhuque-2E launched this time, after iterative upgrades, has a total length of 55.9 meters.

The 8-meter increase is mainly reflected in the first stage, with the propellant carrying capacity increased by about 15%.

Zhuque-2E is a modified version of the company's self-developed Zhuque-2 carrier rocket, which is the world's first liquid oxygen-methane rocket to enter into orbit.

The rocket uses a domestically pioneered tank pressure ignition deorbiting technology - using leftover fuel and pressure to actively deorbit the upper stage, shortening re-entry time and reducing space debris.

The successful completion of the Zhuque-2E Y5 mission marks the maturity and stable operation of the Zhuque-2 series launch vehicles.

From Zhuque-2 Y1 to Zhuque-2E Y5, LandSpace has continuously iterated and optimized core technologies of liquid oxygen methane launch vehicles.

China is on track to conduct over 100 space launches this year, including more than 60 commercial missions.

Private rockets are expected to undertake more than 30 launches, according to the Securities Times.
