Heathers: The Musical - Lifeboat

This is a big turning point for Heather McNamara in the musical. Immediately before this, she confessed her suicidal thoughts to the crowd of students, and Heather Duke ordered her to stay in line. In the song, she explains how she hates the cutthroat nature of the school just as much as the people on the bottom of the food chain, and that she lives in fear of being ostracized because she is the most timid of the popular crowd. She uses a lifeboat on a stormy sea as a metaphor for being in the popular crowd at Westerberg.
