Tens of Thousands Rally in Tirana Supporting Ex-KLA Fighters on War Crimes Trial | APT

Tens of thousands of Albanians from Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Serbia gathered in Tirana on October 17, to protest the trial of former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and three ex-KLA commanders charged with war crimes. The special court in The Hague is examining allegations from the 1998-99 Kosovo insurgency, a conflict that led to Kosovo’s independence.

Supporters hold Albanian and KLA flags, demanding justice and the immediate release of their heroes, whom many consider liberators. The trial is ongoing and expected to conclude in early 2026.
