Barry sustained a spinal cord injury in a diving accident in 1987. Before becoming Chairman of the CSRO in 2006, Barry served as the President of the CSRO from 2001-2006 and was an advocate for the need for increased consumer focus and participation in the neurotrama research field since 1992. A member of several community non-profit boards including the Richmond Hill Mobility Accessibility Foundation and the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation, he takes an active role in advising non-profit organizations. Barry is the 2003 recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Award given for outstanding citizenship. Barry Munro graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1994 and was called to the Bar in 1996. He is a lawyer with Aylesworth LLP, Barristers and Solicitors, a law firm in Toronto, Ontario.

After & Beyond Resource Manual

-Available free from the CSRO to all spinal cord injured individuals and their families

-A resource manual to help guide spinal cord injured individuals from rehabilitation back into the community.

-Knowledge enables "consumer advocacy." The more information consumers have, the increased role they can play in facilitating their own care needs.

-Healthcare providers are better equipped to administer care to their patients when they better understand a patient's injuries.
