Please know that I keep a more than usual amount of clothes in my wardrobe so that I can continue to provide a variety of styling ideas to help educate you here on YouTube. I don't want you to compare the size of your wardrobe with mine or other influencers in this space.
I encourage you to explore shopping ethical & sustainable brands or those brands that are at least making progress (if these options are available to you). I also encourage you to shop second-hand as much as possible. Do your best to be kind to people and the planet and you will be rewarded greatly ♥️

IN TODAY'S VIDEO...

In today's video I wanted to share with you a small declutter after we have just moved into out new place in Sydney. I wanted to share this with you to show different ways to declutter mindfully with the environment in mind.

Ec-friendly decluttering to me is making sure to not be wasteful with items and to not over donate items to charity shops.

Here are some extra eco-friendly decluttering tips not mentioned in the video...

TIPS BEFORE BEGINING A BIG DECLUTTER...
- don't tackle it all at once, it will be a bigger job than you expect
- break it up into sections and work on one area at a time
- expect to be sitting in a mess for a little while (an organised mess though!)

LOOK AT OBJECTS WITH A CREATIVE EYE!
Reusing, repairing minor damages, upcycling, finding alternative ways to use things, and when we're done with something, making sure we do everything to extend it's life elsewhere.

If you like upcycling but you feel uninspired, you can join upcycling groups on Facebook, people are always posting awesome things on there.

COMPOSTING...
I didn't talk about this in the video, but if you compost already, you can compost any old natural textiles. For example, cotton, silk, wool, cashmere, bamboo, jute, and hemp. These textiles will decompose in one week to one year in most cases.
