Despicable Me (2010) follows Gru, a longtime supervillain who dreams of pulling off the greatest heist the world has ever seen. Determined to prove himself, he sets his sights on stealing the moon with the help of his army of Minions, his scientist partner Dr. Nefario, and a collection of bizarre gadgets and inventions.

But Gru’s plan takes an unexpected turn when he adopts three orphan girls named Margo, Edith, and Agnes as part of his latest scheme. What begins as a calculated move slowly becomes something much more personal as the girls start breaking through Gru’s cold exterior. As his rivalry with Vector escalates, Gru is forced to choose between the villain life he has always chased and the family connection he never expected to need.
