Removing Wrinkles from Vinyl Upholstery Projects

Are you upholstering with a seating vinyl fabric? After fitting your cover over the foam or form, you may notice a few small wrinkles in the vinyl. Using a heat gun — or better yet, a clothing steamer — may help reduce those small wrinkles or loose spots in the vinyl fabric. This video demonstrates how.

WARNING:
When using steam, be careful not to get too close to the surface of the vinyl fabric with the steamer. In general, maintain approximately an inch of space between the steamer and the material, and be sure to wipe moisture away from the material immediately. Be careful to not oversteam or discoloration may occur; in extreme cases, the discoloration may be permanent.
