😻 Atari XL/XE Alley Cat [1983]

The classic 1983/1984 game Alley Cat for Atari XL/XE was one of my favorites and has 4 difficulty levels: Kitten, House Cat, Tom Cat, Alley Cat... though the game technically continues indefinitely until you lose all your lives.

While it doesn't have "levels" in the modern linear sense, the game loop progresses through increasing difficulty stages and a specific set of mini-game environments and each time you successfully reach the female cat ("Felicia") in the special love-room, the difficulty level increases.

I has 5 Mini-Game Rooms, inside the apartment building, there are five unique challenge rooms that you enter randomly through open windows:

* The Fishbowl: Dive into a bowl to eat fish while dodging electric eels and surfacing for air.
* The Birdcage: Knock a birdcage off a table and catch the escaping bird.
* The Cheese: Catch mice appearing in holes within a giant block of cheese.
* The Dogs' Room: Lick milk from the dishes of sleeping bulldogs without waking them.
* The Bookshelf: Avoid a giant spider while climbing a shelf to grab ferns or flower vases.
