German Retirees in Eastern European Homes | Journal Reporters
For the many elderly Germans who need care, the cost of nursing homes can be prohibitively high. Some are now turning to Eastern Europe for the solution. Care homes in countries like Poland and the Czech Republic are cheaper than in Germany. But others are still put off by differences in language and culture, as well as the increased distance from their relatives.
