Touring with Justin Timberlake and traveling with son: Jessica Biel talks summer with family
(6 Sep 2018) TOURING WITH JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE AND TRAVELING WITH SON: JESSICA BIEL TALKS SUMMER WITH FAMILY
Jessica Biel has had a summer full of family and travel as she and son Silas have criss-crossed Europe with her husband, Justin Timberlake on his "Man of the Woods" tour.
The actress has no complaints.
"I love to travel. Travel is like my - like my happy place, like where I want to spend my money," said Biel.
With her three-year-old son in tow, she admits traveling has "its challenges," but is grateful for the "great education" it's been for him. Biel says it's allowed her and Timberlake Jr. to enjoy conversations about maps, countries and locations.
"You know, he's now talking about Copenhagen. He's telling his grandma, 'I'm in Stockholm.' Coming out of a three-year-old's mouth," she said.
Though Silas may be too young to take in everything, she's convinced "something is getting in there."
"No, he didn't look at the Mona Lisa. He was in his stroller looking at his iPad. But something is getting in there. I really believe it," said Biel. "I believe that somewhere cellularly he's absorbing the history and the masters that painted these incredible things and these frescoes and these beautiful architectural feats."
Beyond the cultural exposure Silas has been getting, Biel said traveling has also taught her son how to try new things.
"He even says things now to me like, 'Are we going to go have an adventure today?' I'm like, 'Yes, we are,'" she said. "And you know kids, it's hard for them to try new things and so I feel like it's those small little successes, those little things are huge."
As for watching her husband play throughout the summer, Biel said she hasn't tired of seeing him perform.
"Oh yeah. I've probably seen the show 30 times. I mean minimal. Minimally, at least 30 times. Never gets old. It just doesn't. He's the best," she said. "Truly. I mean that. I'm biased, of course, but I think also, if I saw the show completely not knowing him, I think it's the best show. Ever."
Biel is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Emmy for her performance in "The Sinner." She has yet to pick a dress for the event.
"I don't know what I'm wearing," she said. "It's funny, you think that you would do these things way ahead of time, but fashion is changing so quickly."
Biel said that her Emmy dress fitting is scheduled for September 14 or 15 with the event taking place on September 17.
