Le témoignage de Yacouba Moumouni : musicien à Niamey

"Rien, rien rien du tout... rien... On ne sait pas quoi faire, on va voir ce que Dieu va faire..." Yacouba est un maître de la flûte du Niger, chanteur et compositeur, grand connaisseur des traditions Peuls, Songhaï, Djerma, Haoussa, également impliqué sur des rencontres en tout genre et ayant joué aux quatre coins de la planète. Leader de la formation Mamar Kassey, il est le musicien nigérien le plus connu en dehors des frontières de son pays et vit à Niamey. Le trio Serendou, composé de Yacouba Moumouni, Jean-Luc Thomas et Boubacar Souleymane a déja deux albums CD au catalogue du label breton Hirustica.

Singer and extraordinary man. Yacouba Moumouni is a figurehead of African music. Singer and father of the group Mamar Kassey. Considered as the spokesperson for Nigerian music, he has played in the entire world. He’s a flute player with a very colourful playing, full of energy and subtleties.
