Today we are reviewing the Sandmarc Anamorphic iPhone lens. We were sent this anamorphic lens by Sandmarc over the summer and spent the summer filming with it. They've been begging us to finally finish our review video and give our thoughts on it so here it is!

The problem with the lens is not the lens but the iPhone. I'm not the biggest fan of smartphone footage. Which is why I rigged it to a gopro, which also didn't work out.

The harsh, deep blue flares that the lens projected were also a little jarring. Not sure if it was just the atmosphere I was filming in or the camera. I will say I shot inside, and outside in a variety of locations and always had them. They almost feel painted on and fake.

The poor quality of the iphone when filming at night or filming at golden hour also creates a problem in that you have this amazingly built lens and still getting terrible footage because of what you're attaching the lens too.

Overall, I'm impressed with Sandmarc, their quality in the build, the price is just right for something of this caliber I think. They also have amazing accessories with an attachment to be able to use it on any phone as well as an amazing case for the iphone that I use all the time now. I hope they build more lenses for mirrorless or for Gopro.
