Living with Sloth Bears (English) A Film by Wildlife SOS
Sloth bears (Melursus ursinus) are one if the most feared animals in jungles of India, Nepal and Sri Lanka due to their “unpredictable behavior” and propensity to attack humans. They are responsible for several hundred attacks annually which can leave their victims seriously injured or even dead. These attacks often lead to the retaliatory killings of sloth bears or at the very least an extreme dislike of the species. This film was created by Wildlife SOS in the hopes of curtailing the number of attacks, and by doing so helping people and bears. Most of the footage was shot at the Wildlife SOS Bannerghatta Bear Rescue Centre. We are grateful to the Director of the Film, Thomas Rowell, for working with Wildlife SOS on this project, and we encourage viewers to visit our website https://wildlifesos.org/our-work/#conservation to see other conservation projects Wildlife SOS is involved in.
