Street Rod/Rat Rod gone wrong

We run a small rural garage in Eastern Ontario, a family run business with my wife managing the office, myself (33 years in the trade, 30 of them as a 310S/310T licensed tech) as the shop foreman and lead mechanic, our youngest son is about to start his apprenticeship as soon as our third year apprentice gets licensed.
Two weeks ago I was contacted by a former co-worker about rebuilding a 350 in a 54 Chevy truck. What showed up at our shop was NOT what I expected! The lead pictures are of the truck when purchased, minus engine and transmission, by the current owner. He left it with a neighbour of his to do some "rat rod" work to it, I don't think he expected what he got either!
This kind of mechanical butchery is why Ontario enacted tighter inspection standards for light duty vehicles a few years ago.
