Shining Light Across the Distance: Jewish Mourning and Grief Rituals with Rabbi Lynn Gottlieb
May 12, 2020 (Lag b'Omer) at Chochmat HaLev
Jewish Mourning and Grief Rituals
with Lynn Gottlieb
Hod - Honor/Splendor (The Chochmat Omer series)
Many of us are experiencing grief and loss. Join Rabbi Lynn in the week of Shining Grace and experience the spiritual wisdom of Jewish tradition relating to mourning. This is also an opportunity to create a home altar to serve as a place of strength and healing. How do we comfort each other in the days of a global pandemic? What can we learn from the past to help us navigate this emergent world?
If you like, you can prepare for the class by setting up a small altar with objects that are healing to your spirit. This could include yahrzeit or votive candles, pictures of loved ones, and any items with special significance. If possible, have your altar in view on Zoom.
The altar is not a requirement. Come as you are with no special preparation. All are welcome!
