Fastest way to tie an FG knot is in this tutorial. This video is mostly for beginner fishermen who want to learn three different ways of attaching braided fishing line to mono or fluorocarbon leader easily and fast.

I start tying the weakest and progress to the strongest knot in this video tutorial. The fastest one to tie is unfortunately the weakest, but with some practice the one with the most strength can be tied quickly.

The Uni to Uni knot and the FG are the stronger of the three. The weaker one I only use when I'm catching smaller fish, usually a lot of them too. Of these knots the FG is the strongest and the method I teach is very easy to tie and can be learned quickly.

I've caught a lot of fish, big and small using these proven methods of connecting these three different types of fishing lines to each other. The great thing about the learning the uni to uni knot is this one works when connecting mono to mono or fluorocarbon to fluoro. Also the easiest knot I teach in this video also works when connecting mono or fluorocarbon to its self.

On the other hand the FG knot really only works for connecting braided fishing line to monfilament or fluorocarbon leader.
