Restore Old Mailbox With Heat Gun

The old mailbox is looking rough after 20 years of blazing heat, hurricanes, and one time getting knocked over by a garbage truck. I saw someone restoring old lawn furniture with a propane torch on YouTube and decided to give it a try.
I immediately ran out of propane.
Ok, I have a heat gun, let me give that a try.
