Pedro Reyes, Disarm Violin played by Leticia Gonzales

During the run of the exhibition, Pedro Reyes: DIRECT ACTION installed at SITE SANTA FE, local musicians performed on Reyes’ striking "Disarm" instruments, made from decommissioned firearms.

Leticia Gonzales was born and raised in Santa Fe, NM, where she continues to live and work as a musician, writer, and weaver.

DIRECT ACTION was a solo exhibition by Mexican artist Pedro Reyes. This expansive and playful exhibition explores art-as-activism through a selection of sculptures, prints, performance, and a newly commissioned video work.
