If you were shrunk down to the size of an atom, what would you see and feel?
In this video, we’ll embark on an incredible journey into the microworld and imagine what it would be like if we were the size of an atom. We’ll see reality in a way no human eye ever could: electron clouds, quantum fluctuations, forces of attraction and repulsion—all becoming part of our “vision.” What fascinating aspects of physical processes could we observe?
You’ll learn why familiar objects would turn into islands of chaos and motion, how light, vision, and time behave at the atomic scale, why electrons and atomic orbitals act very differently from the simplified models taught in school, what strange quantum effects an “atom-sized human” might experience—and why this thought experiment is impossible in reality, yet incredibly useful for understanding the microworld.
Contents:
00 – Introduction
49 – Quantum interactions that “don’t exist”?
53 – Why shrinking down wouldn’t let you see anything
52 – The Abbe diffraction limit
01 – Approaching the atom
34 – The “emptiness” inside an atom
43 – How the Casimir effect works: evidence that empty space isn’t truly empty
17 – We’ll observe fluctuations
00 – What would the structure of an atom look like? Even if...
50 – What would macroscopic objects look like?
23 – What would electrons look like?
04 – Maybe it’s better not to approach an atom at all
17 – Why we can touch objects at the macroscopic level—and what happens when we shrink
26 – It would be better if the atom repelled us…
50 – Encounter with a single particle
50 – Constant, perpetual motion
45 – Why everything would still appear blurry
26 – You wouldn’t last a minute without collisions
18 – Time would pass differently
51 – Why we would “fall through”
