Hunting Lesson for the Tiger Cubs by Tadoba Tigress Maya at Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve

It was a bright sunny afternoon, with temperature touching almost 48℃. T-12 and her both cubs- male and female, were resting near the famous waterhole.
We waited for nearly two hours. As the sun was setting and the temperature had come down, female cub moved from mother. She went into the bushes nearby. And the game of Peak-a-boo began between these two siblings. Both cuties were enjoying the play. Their mother T-12 was sleeping, but still she was alert too. Suddenly the male cub saw a Sambar deer walking towards the waterhole. Cub first reached her mother. There were some TIGER TALKS between them. Both took a stance , and the Male cub headed towards his would be KILL. The gesture and the stance was not less than an adult tiger/tigress.
The stalking while looking at sambar deer, then hiding for a bit inside bushes by the small yet confident cub was amazing. We were feeling that yes we can see a real KILL now. Despite of knowing the Cubs limitations, the scene in front of us was amazing as well as thrilling.
Next 2-3 minutes were mesmerizing for each one present there.
As soon as the sambar deer saw tiger cub and his mother, he gave a loud alert call. Not once, but more than that. You can hear those clearly in the video.
Finally the deer ran away and the hero of the moment came back to his mother with proud. Even though he didn't complete the KILL session, he has passed the initial stage.
Mother appreciated him with her motherly gesture.
Sometimes such scenes are unforgettable and amazing rather than watching a actual kill.
It teaches you lot of things, such as patience, skills, calmness, alertness, etc.
