RIP Dad ( Tribute to my loving Father )
My father Dennis was born in the Czechoslovakia in 1942. He was Moravian but grew up in Karlovy Vary. He would often tell me stories about him getting in bar fights and then being released because the cheif of police was a family friend.
His family escaped Soviet occupied Czechoslovakia soon after the Soviet invasion of 1968. The family escaped the communist country through Austria using fake passports like in a movie and finally making it over to Canada.
In Canada my Grandma (Dennis' mother) was walking in Toronto and heard a lady speaking Polish...they started talking in Polish and my Grandma found out that her niece was visiting from Czech and that she was single so my Grandma set up a date with my dad and future mom.
They hit it off and after speaking with each other they found out that their lives had probably crossed paths a couple decades earlier as my father was stationed in my mothers home town. When in the army he would walk through a park everyday on his way to do army training and my mother would be playing at the same park everyday, so they must have at least seen eachother.
In Canada he worked the odd job here and there but mostly he worked as an electrician for Ford Motor Company for many years. He had three children one of who passed away a tragic death while still a baby.
He bought a dream house in Brampton and lived there until his final days.
He was the proud grandfather to 3 grandchildren but his reach went beyond that. He was always the life of the party and his smile was infectious.
He will be sorely missed because on October 15th at 6:58am he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
But we know he is not gone forever just somwhere else for now...because even when he was already acsending to heaven it seems he used his supernatural powers to send my sister and I one more message that we will never forget.
We love you and miss you Dad.
