What's NEXT For Islam Makhachev?

As soon as Islam Makhachev was pulled from that showdown, my thoughts immediately turned to his eventual rebooking.

Watching Makhachev’s slow ascent has indeed been frustrating as he’s clearly one of the best lightweights on the planet, coming from that excellent crop of Dagestan fighters who have taken the game by storm.

Exceptionally technical in his approach, I don’t think there’s any guarantee that the next matchup for Makhachev will bring the type of fireworks that his fans would prefer, but for this video, I have decided to outline some of the potential names who would serve as a fitting test for this highly-touted contender.
