PM, Speaker clash during fiery Question Time
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has clashed with Speaker Tony Smith during a tense exchange during Question Time on Thursday.
Mr Morrison was forced to withdraw comments he made about Labor leader Anthony Albanese in relation to the Somyurek scandal.
"This leader of the opposition, in the midst of a debacle and corruption scandal that he has overseen, corruption a word that..." Mr Morrison said.
"The prime minister will resume his seat. The prime minister will resume his seat. The manager of opposition business will resume his seat. The prime minister needs to withdraw that imputation," Mr Smith said.
"Mr Speaker, on the point of order ... No."
"Members on my left! Member for Kingston, the member for Kingston will cease interjecting. There’s going to be no debate. The prime minister needs to withdraw that imputation."
