In late 2008, a former brake pad manufacturer from Quebec called a paper
mill in Switzerland — and ordered the exact cotton-linen stock used to
print U.S. currency. Four years later, he had flooded North America with
a quarter of a billion dollars in counterfeit twenty dollar bills.

His name was Frank Bourassa. The Secret Service needed laboratory equipment
to tell his bills apart from real ones. When they finally caught him, he
was facing sixty years in an American federal prison.
