Will housing prices fall In the near Future ? No. I am in San Diego and our market is Strong with multiple offers, and prices being bid over the listing price.

I lend in 49/50 States and I am still seeing strength in most markets, but we are beginning to see some cracks. Areas that grew too fast are going to take a pause, and they may dip a bit but for the long term owing your own home will be one of your best investments. My thought is we will have a housing shortage for the foreseeable future.

There may be a bit of concern in certain markets that have available land to build, like Phoenix, Las Vegas and parts of Florida & Texas, and I am not saying we are going to have a housing bust, just be aware of where you are investing. .

If you are planning to be in your home for 3-5 years, I believe you will be fine in the long run but you may have some bumps along the way. If you are a flipper I would be cautious with your investment funds. Just make sure you have some staying power and don't buy a home that straps your financially. Long term Real Estate is still one of the Best Investments period!.
