What You Should Know Before Buying Your First Electronic Drumset

Electronic drums are awesome, but there are a few things you should know before plopping down a thousand bucks on your first set:

1. Your electronic drumset is ONLY as good as the headphones or speakers you listen to them through. If you buy a drumset and use $10 earbuds to listen to them. You're going to think they sound like crap, that one is on you.
2. Demos make edrums look more awesome than they actually are. Don't let your expectations soar into the clouds about this drumset you just bought.
3. Edrums aren't silent, they are WAY quieter than acoustic drums, but they are not wisper quiet.
4. Buy for your needs, not what looks cool. If you are going to play live with this, great! Spend really money and buy the good stuff. If you are just going to play this thing once a week, don't drop 2 grand on it.
5. Edrums aren't for the acoustic drum purists. Some people just hate electronic drums, that's fine. Then don't buy one, you'll just sell it a year from now if that's the case. However if you're on the fence about it, you might need to spend extra on a nice drumset that is a tad expensive, but will deliver a better experience. Larger pads, better sound. Don't expect that out of a $500 drumset
