The Giant Magellan Telescope

An update on the project to build the Giant Magellan Telescope with emphasis on contributions from the GMT Brazil Office and some personal research interests and highlights related to the first galaxies, clusters and black holes. Presented at the Workshop for New Physics in Space organized by the ICTP-SAIFR in December 2021.
