Caving in Wyoming - Great-X Cave

Great-X Cave is Wyoming's second longest cave at nearly 8 miles, and the second deepest at 1,408 feet. It is a National Speleological Society nature preserve with a permit required to visit. It is a difficult and hazardous cave with technical vertical sections, cold alpine stream passages, tight squeezes and crawls, and difficult route-finding.
