Interview With Firas Deeb: JCI Vice President for Africa and Middle East

Born on 11 May 1979 in Aleppo, Syria, Deeb holds a master's degree in European studies and policies from the European College of Parma, Italy, and works as a regional programme manager at SPARK, an international development organization. He has more than 14 years of working experience in the Middle East and North Africa region and the European Union, including Belgium, Ireland and Luxembourg working with international and European institutions such as the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Commission.

Deeb joined JCI Aleppo in 2007. He became Local Vice President in 2010 and led several JCI projects on the local and national level in 2011 and 2012. He contributed to the process of relaunching JCI Syria during the war in 2015 and served as a member of his National Board of Directors in 2015 and 2016. He became the JCI Syria National President in 2018 and was elected as JCI International Vice President for 2019 during the JCI World Congress in Goa, India.

He has attended six JCI World Congress, three JCI Area Conferences and one JCI Global Partnership Summit. He was honored in 2016 as JCI Senator No. 75371. He speaks English, Arabic, and Luxembourgish. He is currently based in Luxembourg.
