Hannibal Is Here! Defender 110 2.8i Steering Rod Repair Goes WRONG

Hannibal is here! This South African-spec Defender 110 2.8i has officially landed, and unlike most imports, I specifically asked the team in South Africa not to restore or rebuild it. Why? Because I love vehicles with character, stories, and honest patina — the scratches, wear, and imperfections that show a life well lived.
That said, Hannibal still needs some love. Over the next series of videos, we’ll tackle repairs, upgrades, and fixes to get this legendary Defender road and trail ready while preserving its soul.
In today’s episode, I dive into removing the control arms to replace worn ball joints… but this repair quickly goes sideways and definitely does not go to plan. Will Hannibal make it back together? Follow along to find out.
