Recognising sepsis
Sepsis is the body’s extreme over-response to an infection, and it can lead to tissue damage, organ failure, loss of limbs, and death.
Infections from bacteria, fungi, parasites and viruses can lead to sepsis. This also includes coronavirus infection so it is important to familiarise yourself with the symptoms.
This video has been created as part of a series of training videos and test-your-knowledge quizzes for care providers to help them with the knowledge that they need, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic.
