LIVE: India Secures Safe Passage for LPG Carriers Through Strait of Hormuz

In a rare diplomatic move, Iran has allowed two Indian-flagged LPG carriers, Shivalik and Nanda Devi, to pass safely through the Strait of Hormuz amid escalating regional tensions following U.S. and Israeli airstrikes.

The Indian Navy escorted the Shivalik tanker, while Nanda Devi is expected to clear the strait soon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, securing the transit of critical energy supplies.

This comes as India faces its worst LPG crisis in decades, with households prioritized over industrial supply. The vessels are owned by the state-run Shipping Corporation of India, ensuring uninterrupted energy flow for millions.
