🗞️ J/70 Class Creates New Class Rules Aimed at Increasing Opportunities

Let’s widen the pipeline. The J/70 Class announces two new class rules designed to grow the class and bring more opportunities to families, women, and youth sailors.

Let’s hear from Mixed+ and Young Crew division sailors Annie Samis, Carl Eaton, Matthew Sexton, and Ed Furry.

Carl’s Young Crew under-25 team is racing a club-owned J/70. Eaton is from Minnesota and “can’t wait to see how we shake out against the best sailors in the world.”

Annie’s Mixed-Plus team is made up of two girls, one boy, and a college sailing head coach. Annie usually sails alone or on all-girls teams: “I’ve never actually sailed with guys before. So, being in the Mixed-Plus category allows me to work with people I normally wouldn’t work with and learn from.”
