Giorgio de Chirico. Der Lohn des Wahrsagers

Inspiriert von dem Mythos um Ariadne, eine kretische Prinzessin, platzierte de Chirico eine Ariadne-Skulptur in den fiktiven dargestellten Ort von dem Gemälde »Der Lohn des Wahrsagers«, ein Hauptwerk der Schau. Das 1913 entstandene große Gemälde ist beeinflusst von den Erinnerungen an die Münchner Architektur mit den Arkaden des Hofgartens und an Plätze der italienischen Stadt Turnier. Inspired by the myth of Ariadne, a Cretan princess, de Chirico placed a sculpture of Ariadne in the fictional location depicted in the painting »The Wages of the Fortune Teller«, a major work in the show. Painted in 1913, the large painting is influenced by memories of Munich's architecture with the arcades of the Hofgarten and squares in the Italian city of Turnier Find out more in the video with curator Dr Annabelle Görgen-Lammers.
