Everyone tells you to love yourself, but nobody ever tells you how. I used to type into google “how to love yourself”. Google told me to do face masks. Those didn’t quite work. It wasn’t until recently I started learning how to love myself. It wasn’t until I stopped always trying to take the easy way out, that I learned I could do hard things. It wasn’t until I allowed myself to feel the bad feelings and push on despite them, instead of constantly numbing them with substances, that I found out how strong I was. It wasn’t until I just took the leap and tried doing all the things I was terrified of failing at, that I found out I can succeed at almost anything if I want to bad enough. The days where I don’t see the point in trying anymore, but choose to get up and fight for the life I dream of anyways, are the days I become thankful for myself and PROUD of the person I am. I still have days where I fail. I still haven't accomplished all the things I want to accomplish in life. But I show up and try every day now, no matter what. And that’s what counts. How do you learn how to love yourself? You stop letting the fear hold you back from living the life you’ve always dreamed of. You choose to be brave even though you don’t feel ready. You get up and fight for the things that matter to you even when you don’t feel like it. You find ways to prove to yourself that you’re more than good enough, especially on the days you feel worthless. You become someone that you can be proud of. You love yourself, when you decide to stop letting yourself down. You love yourself, by becoming someone that you can love. That’s what this song is about. Hope it resonates with you. :)
