BREAKING! Gavin Newsom APPOINTS first Black Lesbian to the Senate!

California Governor Gavin Newsom has appointed LaPhonza Butler to complete the United States Senate term of the late Dianne Feinstein.

Butler is a longtime senior adviser to Vice President Kamala Harris and President of Emily’s list, a fund-raising organization dedicated to electing female candidates and supporters of abortion rights.

Gavin Newsom previously pledged to appoint a black women to this Senate Seat and has delivered on that promise.

Butler will be the first Black lesbian to openly serve in Congress in American history and the second Black woman to represent California in the Senate following Vice President Kamala Harris.

Critics of the appointment say that Gavin Newsom is choosing someone based upon their personal characteristics rather than on the merits.

Some people have also pointed out that Butler has never held political office and that she has most recently resided in Maryland and not California.
