Trump poked a hole in the ‘Democrat fear campaign’ by recovering from coronavirus

Sky News host Chris Kenny says President Donald Trump “poked a hole in the Democrats’ fear campaign” when he contracted COVID-19 and powered through.

Mr Kenny continues his road trip from Florida to Washington DC, this time stopping at Wilmington North Carolina, unpacking the politics and campaigning of the Republicans and Democrats regarding the coronavirus pandemic.

“The coronavirus challenge will still be with the US long after the presidential campaign is done,” Mr Kenny said.

“It continues to drive unprecedented levels of early voting, it also has curbed Joe Biden’s campaigning, although more to the point it’s probably given him the perfect excuse to keep a low profile.

“When the president contracted the virus and powered through, he poked a hole in the Democrats’ fear campaign.

“Trump now campaigns in person with energy and immunity.”
