5 top tips when considering a beater car
Yo people say hello to my 1998 Honda Civic LX - BEATER edition. In this little video I cover:
0:37 1 What is a beater car?
2:04 2 Advantages of owning a beater car
3:03 3 What to look for when purchasing a beater car
5:08 4 Maintenance tips for a beater car
6:01 5 Modding a beater car
I've owned this car for 4 years. It cost me $1600 back in 2014 and since then I've spent only a few hundred dollars on brakes, a radiator, and a window regulator. I've also put around $150 into it for better wheels, a factory CD player, and a few other things (junkyard), along with a few inexpensive custom mods I did just for fun.
I get about 31/37mpg, the A/C is cold, it has 210,000 miles, no horsepower whatsoever, is slow as molasses, but it a ton of fun to drive and modify. I meant to comment on the "beginner drive" magnet but forgot - I put that there because I have so many people in bucko trucks and SUVs that run up on my bumper even when I'm going the speed limit...I think there's something psychological about bullying a little car...so I had the idea to put the magnet on there and guess what.....people stay back now and drive much more respectfully around me. Haha, suckers.
This video is all about why a beater car is a great thing to own if you can spare a little money to acquire one.
Thanks for watching!
