Part One - Minecraft, Memories, and the YouTube Era That Raised Us

“Part One”

[Verse 1]
Headphones in at 12:09
iPod glow, under blanket light
School was loud, but this was mine
Clicked that face I knew would make it right

He wasn’t clean, he wasn’t smooth
Cut too quick and screamed too soon
But his voice filled up my bedroom
Like an older friend I never knew

[Pre-Chorus]
And he’d say:
“Hello once again, audience”
Like a joke, like a spell
Like someone meant to show up
Just to pull me out of myself

[Chorus]
Press play on Part One
Before life moved too fast
Before the silence in the hallway
Before I started looking back
It was Happy Wheels and fallout towns
And missing swords and crashing sounds
No one told me those small things
Would be the ones I miss right now

So press play on Part One
Let me hear him laugh again

[Verse 2]
Terraria lights in pixel skies
Dead Space halls where we’d both hide
He’d panic, I’d panic
But somehow I felt fine

Mom said “turn that down”
But I couldn’t, not tonight
It was more than noise —
It was how I survived

[Pre-Chorus]
No streamers yet, no overlays
Just a grainy screen and jokes that stayed
Middle school in the background hum
But I knew where the real world was

[Chorus]
Press play on Part One
Before the channels all went dark
Before “Recommended” meant recycled
Before the magic lost its spark
It was Toby’s scream, and Kovu’s purr
In a bedroom lit by monitor burn
We weren’t cool — we were something better
We were real, and we were first

So press play on Part One
Just once more… then I’ll go

[Bridge – stripped back piano]
I still see that sidebar scroll
301 views, hearts on hold
He played so wrong, but felt so right
Like we were in the same lost fight

[Final Chorus – quiet, swelling]
Press play on Part One
I need to remember how that felt
No sponsorships, no comment wars
Just me, the screen, and someone else
He was loud, and he was flawed
But for a while, he was all I had

So press play on Part One
And take me home again

How Tobuscus Quietly Shaped My Childhood | A Nostalgic Tribute

Toby Turner. Tobuscus. TobyGames. Whatever name you knew him by, if you were there—you know.

I first found Tobuscus thanks to my friend Garrett. He was obsessed. Like, superfan level. He’d constantly go around making Toby’s legendary “Wheeeeeew” sound—so much that it became our inside joke. We even made a pact not to tell anyone it came from YouTube. We wanted to keep that weird, hilarious little world ours.

But the truth is… Tobuscus shaped an entire generation of kids growing up online.
His Minecraft Let’s Plays, “SHUT UP!” intros, and LITERAL Trailers were unlike anything else. The zoom-ins, the sword rants, the chaotic energy—it was all part of the magic.

This video is more than a throwback. It’s a thank you to the one creator who could make us laugh, inspire us to yell “SWORD!” in public, and feel like the internet was actually fun.

If you ever rushed home from school just to hear “Audience?! What are you doing looking at me like that?” — this one’s for you.
