Luxury hotel and restaurant on a private island in Denmark – Vejrø Resort.

The private island of Vejrø in Denmark is home to a new luxury resort. Vejrø Resort is located just an hour from Copenhagen, making it a perfect weekend getaway. You take an electric mini-ferry to get from the mainland to the island. Once you’re there, you can check into one of their beautiful rooms. The master suite is a spacious room with a big bathtub and cozy fireplace.

The island is Denmark’s only «micro-grid» with its own wind turbine, a solar power plant, a reverse osmosis plant, a microbiological purification plant, and regenerative agriculture. Head chef Lasse Zacho aims to source all ingredients for the restaurants locally. They farm, hunt, and fish to be as close as possible to 100% self-sufficient.

You can have a simpler smørrebrød lunch at their casual restaurant Skipperly, or indulge in an elaborate tasting menu at their fine dining concept Gaia. The food at Gaia is a tribute to the nature and surroundings of Vejrø and the best of each season – this is as “farm to table” as it gets. Gaia clearly has high ambitions. #shorts #shotoniphone
