Cinematic Mode On The iPhone 13 Is Broken For The 1%

Cinematic Mode looks crazy on the iPhone 13. It's a great show piece BUT here's the thing, as a creator, I can't really use it because it's broken.

I'm sure it'll get fixed eventually but to use cinematic mode video captured on my iPhone 13 requires a painful extra step that is often times unpredictable.

You have to use AirDrop...

That's right, you can't directly import in the footage. It needs to be AirDrop'd or rendered via iMovie on your device in order for the depth map data to be flattened into the raw footage.

Our clips are usually 5-10 mins long and the preparation portion always takes too long or seems to fail.

So until we can easily get the footage from our iPhone 13's normally, we're going to stay away from Cinematic Mode.
