How to Use Traffic Lights Safely | Blind Hacks

This ‘out and about’ hack helps you determine when a road is safe to cross if you are visually impaired.

Crossing busy roads can be a nightmare at the best of times, but with traffic lights across multiple crossings beeping to indicate the green man is showing, it can be difficult to know which road they are referring to. Reach down below the traffic light button and you’ll find a small tactile cone that spins when you have right of way.

Have you got a tip like this? Share it in the comments – it may even become one of our videos, so your hack could make a difference 🙌 And if you found this hack useful, share it with a friend – it could help someone with a visual impairment stay safe.

We’ve worked with our visually impaired community to produce a series of hacks, helping you through everyday situations both in the home and out and about.
