Three Sisters Veggie Planting: A Native American Planting Method that Listens to Mother Nature

The Three Sisters Planting Method was a method used by a few different Native American Tribes, with some variations from tribe to tribe. This trio of planting - Corn, Beans, and Squash - was used by the Iroquois Tribe in the northeast of North America. It is a method that works in cohesion with Mother Nature, allowing her will to dictate the best way to plant and grow. The method maximizes spaces, conserves water, and produces a full spectrum of nutrition from the three veggies. It is a method that can still be used today with great success! Watch the video to learn more about how you can create this in your garden next spring.

Longwood Gardens is a botanical garden in Kennett Square, PA about an hour outside of Philadelphia. Here they have masterfully recreated the Three Sisters Planting.
