The Story of Harlem Heat
Wrestling Bios Presents - The Story of Harlem Heat
Before Booker T made his way to the WWE, he and brother Stevie Ray were Harlem Heat, a WCW tag team that had incredible success during their active years. While working in World Championship Wrestling, Harlem Heat would win the WCW Tag Team Championships a record 10 times, making Booker T and Stevie Ray the most decorated tag team in WCW history.
Things weren't easy for Harlem Heat before and during their WCW debut. After a rough upbringing and life on the streets, Booker T found himself in trouble. Stevie Ray suggested that his brother gets involved in pro wrestling, and it wasn't long before Booker and Stevie were teaming up as The Ebony Experience. When the brothers made their way to WCW, they debuted with a gimmick that didn't sit well with audiences and executives. Initially known as Kole and Kane, Harlem Heat would eventually ditch their initial gimmick and add Sister Sherri to the group while also changing their names to Booker T and Stevie Ray, and the Harlem Heat we all know was born.
