PERSON TO PERSON, 1958. Edward R. Murrow hosted the original series from its inception in 1953 until 1959, interviewing celebrities in their homes from a comfortable chair in his New York studio. In this segment which originally aired on October 31, 1958, he speaks with Jeanette MacDonald and husband Gene Raymond who are residing in a borrowed apartment while temporarily living on the East Coast.
